Not for the first time, Rasmus Højlund has dropped hints that he’d be quite happy to join Manchester United.
It’s already been established the striker is a big fan of the Old Trafford club, and interest from Erik ten Hag’s side makes a lot of sense, especially if they’re buying more than one striker in the summer window.
Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet have him on the front page of their sport section, with a couple of articles inside on his future with Atalanta and whether he’s set for a transfer.
Firstly, there’s quotes from him about taking on a new agent. Just like multiple clubs around Europe have been taking an interest in the 20-year-old, so have multiple agent groups.
There’s been claims he’s joined SEG, who also represent Ten Hag, but the player himself won’t confirm that, only saying whoever representing him is ‘on trial’.
Ekstra Bladet have further quotes from a press conference on Monday, when the youngster was asked about his future.
One of his replies was: “It’s a huge club, so I must have done something right if it says that they want me.
“My goal is to reach the highest shelf, and you can say that Manchester United is that. So it will be huge.”
He refused to confirm having any contract with the Premier League club.
Given Rasmus Højlund is a self confessed Manchester United fan and has dropped hints about joining them, it’s not too difficult to imagine what his ‘on trial’ agents have been told to prioritise.
