Nottingham Forest may have advanced in talks to sign Odysseas Vlachodimos, but they may still not have the green light from the player for the transfer.
As the Portuguese media speaks about the negotiations today, local newspapers show a little conflict regarding the goalkeeper’s stance on this move.
Record feature a short story saying Vlachodimos is ‘resisting’ the transfer, as he doesn’t want to play for a club who may fight against relegation, as he’s currently in a place where they compete for titles and feature in the Champions League.
There’s also something curious mentioned, with the newspaper claiming that since Evangelos Marinakis also owns Olympiacos, there’s the ‘risk’ that Nottingham Forest could end up loaning him to the Greek club, and that’s a scenario that ‘doesn’t please’ the goalkeeper.
O Jogo, meanwhile, come up with a totally different story. They claim that Vlachodimos has already made it known he accepts the transfer, and now waits for the clubs to find an agreement for his move.
The newspaper also sounds very optimistic about the move, claiming that even though Nottingham Forest’s €9m bid wasn’t enough to convince Benfica, everything points out that a deal will be found in time for a summer transfer.
As usual, it’s a matter of waiting and seeing which newspaper is right.
