Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati may have been surrounded by transfer rumours in the past few months, but he’s not that keen on moving this summer.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo today shares a story where they explain the 20-year-old’s situation, and even detail the interest from the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It’s said that Barcelona have Fati in a list of ‘expendable’ players who could leave this summer, with his agent Jorge Mendes being in charge of an operation to find him a new club.
The problem is that he’s not keen on the departure and even told the representative that.
The striker seems to have a personal issue regarding a move to Wolves, as he doesn’t want to join a ‘lesser club’.
Mundo Deportivo point out Mendes has ‘a lot of hands’ at the Molineux side, and that’s why he set up an operation that involved Ruben Neves’ move to the Camp Nou as well. Fati, however, ‘does not swallow’ that scenario.
The youngster’s problem with Wolves doesn’t seem to be the same as with Manchester United and Tottenham, but there’s another issue stopping him from moving to those clubs.
It’s claimed that despite the interest from such sides, it was always clear their offer wouldn’t be ‘very high’, especially because of the ‘little prominence’ Fati had lately, with the La Liga side making his sale so wanted.
So unless Manchester United and Tottenham show up with something attractive, not even Barça would be interested in pushing him out towards them.
