Barcelona star Ansu Fati ‘doesn’t want to hear’ about Arsenal or anyone else being interested in him, as he just wants to play at the Nou Camp.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the youngster wants to be a ‘solution’ and not ‘a problem’ for manager Xavi.
The newspaper reports that Fati is currently only thinking about reversing his situation at the Nou Camp and stopping the rumours about a potential exit.
He’s found himself the subject of transfer rumours over the last week, with reports that Jorge Mendes had spoken to Barcelona’s hierarchy about him as he struggled for a starring role under Xavi.
That had led to talk of Premier League interest and ‘offers’ from ‘important club’, with Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Tottenham named specifically.
That is something Fati isn’t interested in, though, as he is focused only on playing and being important to the team.
His hope is that he can convince Xavi to give him more opportunities moving forwards, having spent most of this season playing a substitutes role, particularly after the Barcelona manager changed his system.
The Spanish coach has made it clear Fati is a part of his plans and an important player for the club and the forward is of a similar mind. He is determined to prove he is a ‘solution’ to any issues and ‘not a problem’ that needs to be dealt with.
If he is going to be in the headlines it will be because of the goals he is scoring or creating, not because of offers from the likes of Arsenal.
Whether that proves to be the case remains to be seen, of course, but it seems for now the Gunners would be wise to focus their transfer efforts elsewhere .
