On January 24th, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported Nottingham Forest have reached a verbal agreement with Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna.
Later that day, Plettenberg stated the winger had two verbal agreements with the Tricky Trees and Marseille.
A fresh report from Bild now provides a different stance on Nottingham Forest’s pursuit to sign the 21-year-old.
The American has lost prominence and has been restricted to 361 minutes from 14 games this season, failing to score a goal or register an assist.
Bild report he’s ‘about to move’ abroad and join either Nottingham Forest or the Ligue 1 side. BVB coach Edin Terzić stated he expects Reyna to be available against Heidenheim on Friday, but the report says his exit is expected to take place this week.
It’s claimed talks with Nottingham Forest and Marseille ‘haven’t been convincing’ for either Dortmund [from a financial point of view] or the player. Despite this, all parties want to ‘find an agreement’, more so because Reyna wants regular playing time.
On Reyna, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl told DAZN: “Of course we kept everything open in both directions. Of course, there are a few mind games going on at the moment. But nothing is final yet, nothing is fixed yet.”
The question remains whether Reyna will join Nuno Espírito Santo’s side or Marseille in the next few days, go somewhere else, or stay where he is.
