Chelsea are in ‘final negotiations’ with Brighton and Hove Albion over a move for midfielder Moises Caicedo, who wants the move to Stamford Bridge.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who say the highly rated midfielder will not be joining Bayern Munich this summer.
They explain that the German champions had been looking at the Ecuadorian as an alternative to Declan Rice, who appears to be on his way to Arsenal.
However, as with Rice, they have been ‘informed’ that Caicedo will not be moving to Germany and were told as much on Thursday.
Instead, the Brighton man will be remaining in the Premier League and according to Sky’s information, he has ‘decided to move’ to Chelsea.
The midfielder had made staying in the Premier League a priority and the Blues have now seemingly made their move to get him, with ‘final negotiations’ now underway between the two sides to finalise the transfer.
Sky make no mention of a fee at this point, but it is likely to be a high one given Brighton convinced Caicedo to sign a new contract a few months ago after he was heavily courted by Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Chelsea, of course, have no problem paying big fees and seem set to continue their big spending from the last two windows to sign yet another key man from the Seagulls.
