There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahçe forward Youssef En-Nesyri is closing in on a transfer to Al-Sadd.
The Morocco international has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest over the past week. Sean Dyche will be looking to improve his squad this month, however, a move to the City Ground is looking unlikely at this stage.
Fotomac report on latest developments regarding En-Nesyri’s Fenerbahçe future. Al-Sadd are looking to loan the 28-year-old for the remainder of the season. The Saudi Pro League side would pay a €5m loan fee, also want a purchase option worth €25m.
According to the Turkish media outlet, negotiations are expected to continue between the two parties. Again, a transfer to the UK has been pushed off the agenda.
Nottingham Forest not the first ones snubbed
Last week, we covered reports that Nottingham Forest were looking to loan En-Nesyri and that his club were keen on the deal if there was purchase option in the agreement.
However, there were suggestions in the Turkish press the player wouldn’t be interested in a move to the Premier League due to the UK climate.
Journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu explained that if En-Nesyri did move then it would be to a country with warm weather. This now seems to be the case with these latest developments over a move to the Middle East.
En-Nesyri has previously turned the chance to play in England after reports in 2023 he rejected West Ham United. At the time it was reported he didn’t fancy playing in the ‘cold London weather’. Last summer he was also being tracked by Fulham, but again a transfer never materialised.
The former Sevilla attacker has made 26 appearances this season, scoring eight goals. He’s contracted to the Yellow Canaries until June 2029.
Despite being of serious interest to multiple Premier League clubs throughout his career, it appears the forward has managed to dodge an England move.
