Niclas Füllkrug leaving West Ham United in the January transfer window is ‘not out of the question’.

That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the striker’s miserable time at West Ham today and how it may be ended in January.

They say that so far, Füllkrug’s move to West Ham has only been ‘financially worthwhile’ for him but not much else. He’s injured again and set to add to his 204 accumulated days injured at the London Stadium.

It’s been a miserable turnaround since his Germany debut in 2022. Now he’s firmly out of the national team picture, which would have been ‘unthinkable’ at one point. His 14 goals and likeable demeanour made the West Ham man a fan favourite.

Things have not gone well at West Ham, though. Since his move for €27m last year, he’s only made 24 Premier League appearances. He has three goals and two assists in those games.

Part of the issue has been change in managers, who’ve often used him in different roles. That’s made it difficult for him to settle.

There have also been ‘consistent health setbacks’, though. He’s suffered a range of injuries, totalling 204 days. That’s not including his latest injury, a torn muscle that’s ruled him out for the foreseeable future.

An early departure in January is ‘not out of the question’ as a result. That could be complicated by his €4.5m per year wages. That’s 30% more than he earned at Dortmund, and is seen as the only benefit of his West Ham move to date.
