Manchester United failed to beat Everton at the weekend and remain 15th in the Premier League.

It was yet another indication that the squad needs changes to meet the demands of Ruben Amorim’s system, as the Red Devils found themselves behind for the vast majority of the game on Saturday.

There is now an indication from Italy about who could be Amorim’s key target for the summer transfer window.

PianetaMilan have reported that the player in question is AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez.

The Frenchman’s new contract situation has been described as ‘complicated’. That is because no progress has been made about a renewal and if no developments take place, the left-back will be sold.

The report claims that Manchester United are an interested club. Hernandez could be ‘among Amorim’s first targets’ in the summer transfer window.

A transfer to Old Trafford may depend on where Manchester United finish in the table. A finish inside the European places can help in convincing the 27-year-old.

The France international rejected a move to Como in January because of their low league position in Serie A. If Amorim’s side don’t change things around in the season, they could also end up being pegged back by the full-back.

However, Manchester United are obviously a very different prospect to Como. In addition, there’s been huge doubt thrown around Hernandez in recent weeks and if wanted this looks like a deal there to do for the Red Devils.
