Tottenham youngster Alejo Veliz has continued to sound delighted at his temporary exit from the club this summer.
The striker has been speaking to AS about life at Espanyol, who he joined on loan this summer, and continues to make it clear how happy he is to be there.
The 20-year-old has endured a frustrating time at Tottenham since joining them in a €15m deal from Rosario Central in August last year.
He’s barely featured under Ange Postecoglou in that time and was sent out to Sevilla in January as a result.
That loan deal proved to be a waste of time for all involved, though, as he was left sat on the bench by then Sevilla boss Quique Sanchez Flores.
He returned to Tottenham in the summer but was quickly shipped out to Espanyol. The hope is that he can feature regularly and develop with the Spanish side this season.
Veliz has already spoken about how delighted he is wit the move and the chance to impress away from Tottenham, and he’s continued to express that in his latest comments to AS.
“I am very happy to be here,” he said.
“I adapted very quickly to the group, there are good people, healthy people and that is the most important thing. It is true that I have only recently been here, but my teammates helped me adapt very quickly.
“I feel more confident, more loose. I’m going to try to improve this week to try to give more of myself.”
