Relegated straight back down to the Championship after a season in the Premier League, Cardiff City have let a number of players go, and are trying to bring others in to replace them.
According to L’Equipe in France, one of those is Le Havre winger Alimami Gory, who they have targeted to bolster their attack.
The 22-year-old scored eight goals for the Ligue 2 side last season, as well as assisting teammates four times, and it’s reported Cardiff have already made an offer for the player, doing so ‘a few days ago’.
It appears Le Havre are mulling it over since there’s no indication towards it being rejected, and with a line explaining the player is ‘in contact’ with Neil Warnock’s side, it could be that it’s edging towards being accepted.
With just a few days left in the transfer window, clubs are going to accelerate their business, and perhaps fall back on backup options if their top picks are too difficult to get.
We’ll have to see what happens with this one, as details are scarce in the French newspaper’s article.
