On May 3rd, Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea said the Tottenham Hotspur player could join Napoli if they were to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager.
Later that month, Corriere dello Sport stated the Serie A side have an interest in the 22-year-old, after trying to sign him before he moved to Spurs from Genoa in January.
Conte is expected to take charge at the Naples club and Area Napoli claim he wants to bolster their defence in the summer window.
The Italian wants Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno, and also likes Clément Lenglet, a player he had managed at Tottenham. It won’t be easy to sign either of them.
Torino are requesting €40m for Buongiorno, and others are also interested in him. Lenglet costs a lot and a deal is unlikely to take shape unless Barcelona, who own him, were to agree for a loan deal and pay part of his salary.
It’s ‘easier’ for Napoli to sign the Romania international, who has struggled for more game time at Tottenham. Therefore, the 22-year-old ‘would consider’ leaving Spurs and move back to Serie A on loan, in order to regain prominence.
Area Napoli make no mention whether Ange Postecoglou and his side are open to letting Drăgușin leave in the next window.
Napoli would almost certainly prioritise a loan, and whilst it’s clear how that could benefit them it’s not so clear for Tottenham.
