One would very much hope that we don’t get to the final week of August and Sofyan Amrabat is still holding out for Manchester United and refusing all other clubs.
For weeks the Italian media have made clear that he’s desperate for a return to Old Trafford, having spent the last season on loan at the Premier League club.
Indeed, a couple of days ago it was claimed his head is at Manchester United, and he can hardly think of anything else.
Thursday saw reports about interest from Fenerbahce rise, and it was thought the prospect of Jose Mourinho wanting him could tempt Amrabat.
Corriere dello Sport report the Super Lig club have made a €10m offer, which was rejected, but even if La Viola had accepted it… Amrabat would have said no.
The Italian newspaper state he’s ‘confidently waiting’ for Manchester United to move for him. Previous reports have said the Red Devils could try for another loan move, with negotiations then over what kind of clause would be included.
However, as of yet that approach hasn’t happened.
