Earlier on Monday, we covered an article in L’Equipe about the details of the deal between Marseille and Watford for Ismaïla Sarr.
It was reported the Senegal international would be leaving the Championship side to sign in the south of France for a fee of around €13m, which was enough to convince the Vicarage Road side to accept a transfer.
The two clubs have some history because of the whole Pape Gueye kerfuffle, but it appears Watford and Marseille put that to one side for a transfer that appears to be nearly done, as per L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi.
The 25-year-old has already travelled and undergone the required tests, and will sign a five-year contact with the Ligue 1 side.
He leaves Watford after making 131 appearances for the Hornets in all competitions, scoring 34 goals and assisting another 24, having signed from Stade Rennais for €30m back in 2019.
