According to a claim in the Italian media, Yohan Benalouane has committed himself to Nottingham Forest until 2022 after joining the Championship side from Leicester City in the last transfer window.
TMW today report the Tunisia international has extended his contract beyond June 2020 after impressing since his arrival at the City Ground in January. It’s reported the defender will not be returning to Italy this summer following his spells with the likes of Cesena, Parma, Atalanta and Fiorentina.
The 32 year old made 14 Championship appearances last season for Forest and, according to the claims, did enough to earn himself a contract extension.
Benalouane signed for £900k from Leicester City, and despite being signed by former manager Martin O’Neill the player will remain with the club for the foreseeable future.
Since signing for Forest, Benalouane has managed to kickstart his career after his woes at Leicester City. He joined the Premier League side in 2015 from Atalanta but made just 16 league appearances for the Foxes.
