Panama defender Edgardo Fariña has admitted he will sit down and discuss his future amid reports that Burnley, Cardiff and Watford are interested in him.
The defender has been speaking to La Red 106.1 about his future after reports in England claimed that he has suitors in the Premier League.
Burnley, Cardiff and Watford were all reported to be keeping an eye on the 22-year-old as he impressed at the Copa America with Panama.
This was naturally picked up by the Panamanian press, who insisted that Levski Sofia were also in the mix alongside Burnley, Cardiff and Watford.
The defender was keen to bat off rumours about his future, though, as he was focused on competing at the tournament with his country.
He started and played 90 minutes in all four of his country’s games, with Panama reaching the quarter finals after managing wins over the USA and Bolivia in the group stages.
They were beaten 5-0 by Colombia last week to end their participation and it seems that means Fariña’s focus can now turn to his club career and a potential transfer this summer.
“There has been a lot of talk about that, but I was focused on the Copa América to do something else. It’s time to return (to Municipal) and see the best options that can benefit me,” he said.
La Red 106.1 add that the situation is ‘expected to become clearer’ in the coming days, when the defender will decide whether to continue where he is or move on.
If it is the latter, perhaps that is when we will see movement, with Burnley, Cardiff and Watford might make concrete approaches.
