A few days ago we covered renewed claims from Portugal of a Premier League move for Yacine Brahimi. FC Porto are very keen to cash in on the player before the transfer window shuts, and they’ve even got him training away from the rest of the squad.
If Brahimi picked up an injury whilst in training then it would scupper a move, and Porto clearly don’t want that to happen.
The Portuguese claims stated that Brahimi saw England as his preferred destination, and he had several options there. Liverpool were mentioned as n interested club, but they were said to be behind in the chase.
Arsenal were also linked, but Portuguese newspaper A Bola said Everton held the advantage at that point.
On Saturday France Football said that whilst there’s interest from Leicester City and Arsenal, according to their information it’s Everton who are pushing most strongly. Everton have already initiated contacts to sign the player, and want to get Porto down from the player’s €60m clause.
The earlier Portuguese claims said Porto wanted €40m, but given they so clearly want to sell the player, and it’s so close to the end of the window, they may have to compromise on that.
