The Portuguese media is starting to look optimistic about Pedro Porro’s transfer from Sporting to Tottenham Hotspur.

With the clubs holding a meeting today, we already covered a report from journalist Bruno Andrade which said the negotiations are advancing, despite having no outcome yet.

Now it’s time for O Jogo to talk about it, backing up the stance that Porro is ‘closer to reinforcing’ Tottenham in the January transfer window.

It’s claimed that with the talks moving forward, ‘everything points to’ Spurs matching the €45m demanded by Sporting for the player.

Even though the agreement is still to be finalised, O Jogo says that it could still be concluded today, as the clubs only need to discuss payment methods, commissions and third-party shares relating to solidarity mechanism payments.

The outlet claims Tottenham and Sporting are also discussing the timing of the transfer, as he could still play the League Cup final on Saturday and have his farewell from the Lions.

With all this discussion going on, what seems certain is that despite reaching the €45m price, Spurs are not triggering the release clause, and that will allow them to build a more interesting formula to get the signing done.
