The Portuguese media continues to bring updates on Lucas Piazon’s departure from Chelsea.
On Friday, newspaper Record had already claimed the player was ‘ending his bond’ with the Blues to sign for Braga.
Now it’s SIC Notícias who bring one more story. They claim that Piazon was ‘called by Chelsea’ to sort out his contract situation.
The outlet says the Brazilian is rescinding his contract with the Blues to sign for Braga on a permanent move. They state the move is ‘very close’ to happening as there’s only ‘a few details’ to be sorted out.
Lucas Piazon spent the first part of the season on loan at Rio Ave, where he had one goal and two assists in 12 appearances. Due to his good form, other reports had already claimed that his spell would be cut short so he could join a more competitive side.
The likes of Norwich City and Stoke City had even been pointed out as potential destinations for him, but it seems this move to Braga is what’s really happening.
