Jota Silva claims he is enjoying life in the Premier League since joining Nottingham Forest from Vitória de Guimarães last summer.
Record have published a detailed interview with the winger where he talks about several topics, including his adaptation in England.
The Portugal international had spent his playing career in his own country before joining Nottingham Forest.
Jota Silva says his teammates, and the club have helped him adapt quickly in England.
“But everything went very smoothly. I found a very well-structured club that helped me with everything. Choosing a house, a car, having everything ready so that I could just think about arriving, training and helping the team,” he said.
“I got a fantastic group, not just in terms of professional qualities, but as people they’re all incredible. So, to be honest, it wasn’t difficult at all to get used to being here.”
He managed two goals and two assists from 28 games in all competitions for the Reds. Nuno Espírito Santo has mainly used the winger as a substitute as he made four starts in the Premier League.
Despite the limited role, the attacker claims his expectations have already been exceeded at Nottingham Forest and is thrilled to be part of the Premier League.
“It’s been great. It’s always been a dream to play here and I’m very happy. All my expectations have been exceeded,” Silva explained.
“I thought this was a world away, and I arrived and managed to exceed my expectations. It’s a different kind of football. Big games every week, stadiums that are always full, great teams, great players. To be among the best in the world is a dream come true.”
The English club are currently third in the table and are now four points ahead of Manchester City after their 1-0 vicogtry over the Premier League champions yesterday.
The newspaper asked Silva whether Nottingham Forest’s goal is to secure a ‘podium’ [likely top three] finish this season.
“It’s impossible not to talk about it, which is our main objective: to be prepared every week and every game to compete at the highest level. That’s what we’ve set ourselves and that’s what we want to do until the end of the league,” he added.
“We’re going to get to the end of the league, and I think that if we’re as competent as we’ve been, as serious as we’ve been, with the quality we’ve shown in every game, I think we’ll achieve great things.”
When Record interviewed the player in 2021, he talked about representing the national team as one of his dreams. Silva has already fulfilled it, and the newspaper asked him his dreams for 2025.
“I’m always renewing my dreams, because I think that always wanting more is great. As I said, establishing myself here and winning beautiful things,” the Nottingham Forest man said.
“I’ve always said that I’d like to play in the Champions League, which is another goal that I haven’t achieved yet. That’s what I’m going after too.”
“But more important than that is being able to help the club achieve its goals. One of my dreams is to be able to make my family and friends proud of my career, the decisions I make and who I’ve become. So, I have to keep working.”
