On Friday, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna stated Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma prefers a move to Everton in the winter market and the negotiations are ongoing for the transfer to take shape.
The forward has also attracted attention from Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Despite being coveted by the two Eredivisie sides, he now ‘chooses Everton’.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who state the 25-year-old will join the Toffees on a loan deal until the end of this season, without any option or obligation to buy.
It’s further claimed the Netherlands international will undergo medical tests on Saturday and complete a temporary move to the Merseyside club.
The player has a good feeling about both Frank Lampard and the Premier League side, even though they are currently 19th in the table. A move to Ajax or PSV would have seen him compete for the domestic title and also feature in the European competition.
Instead, the Dutchman has decided to pick Everton and their current league position has ‘not deterred him’. Danjuma sees it as a major challenge to help Lampard’s side avoid getting relegated this season.
