Last week, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg revealed he isn’t satisfied with his limited playing time at Tottenham Hotspur and that only Ange Postecoglou can explain why he hasn’t been used much this season.
The midfielder has clocked in over 1000 minutes from 28 league games and only has six starts. His restricted game time at Spurs saw him linked to Juventus and a few other clubs in the winter market.
A deal didn’t take shape in January and the Serie A side are still in the picture to sign the Tottenham player, according to Tuttosport.
The Denmark international has less than 18 months left on his contract, meaning the next window could be the north London club’s last chance to earn a decent fee from his sale.
It’s claimed Tottenham could sell the 28-year-old for a ‘reasonable fee’ in the summer, to avoid losing him for free in 2025. Those are ‘possibilities to be exploited’ for the Turin club and also for Napoli, who had looked at the Dane in January.
Taking his qualities during the attacking and defensive phase into account, Højbjerg would be useful for the Old Lady. Based on his recent admission, it’s explained that he ‘certainly wouldn’t have any problems packing his bags’ after this season.
Despite this confidence, the reality will almost certainly be more difficult for Italian clubs. There was similar confidence ahead of the January window but Daniel Levy’s experience in the transfer market has shown he doesn’t give away presents.
What Serie A clubs think is a ‘reasonable fee’ and what Tottenham think is such, is likely to be very different indeed.
