Jesús Vázquez is waiting for Valencia to decide what his future will be, with Leeds United one of several clubs believed to be interested in his signature.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the full-back can ‘choose his destination’ in the January transfer window but wants to ‘reach a consensus’ with Valencia to find the best possible destination for him.
We covered a report yesterday that made it clear that Vázquez is planning talks with the Spanish side, who may sanction a loan deal to help the player’s development and satisfy his need for first-team football.
Super Deporte pick up on that today, stating that while the player is seen as one of the most promising talents at the Mestalla, the step up to the first team is proving tricky.
This stage of his development is key and there is an acceptance that he needs to play and get minutes somewhere else.
A clause in his contract linked to minutes played means he can ‘choose’ a destination for himself for a loan deal in the January transfer window and Leeds are one of those who are interested.
They have been linked with a move for several weeks, with it reported earlier this week that Leeds would ‘join the bid’ for him should be made available.
That won’t happen without the permission of Valencia and Gennaro Gattuso, thus the need for a meeting between the two parties to find an agreement.
For now, only one thing is clear, Vázquez can leave and wants first-team football elsewhere, there is just no agreement on his destination as yet.
Elland Road, though, is very much a possibility, as long as Leeds United would accept a loan.
