CA Talleres winger Ramón Sosa has begun to say goodbye to the club as he continues to be linked with a move to the likes of Everton.
That’s according to TyC Sports, who cover the plyer and how his departure from the club is now ‘a matter of weeks’.
They report that Sosa’s ‘destiny seems to be in Europe’, with several sides seemingly chasing his signature ahead of the summer.
He’s long been linked with a move to Boca Juniors, but TyC report that is fast becoming unlikely as he’s undisputedly Talleres’ best player and perhaps even the best in Argentine football at this moment in time.
They know he’s playing his last games at the club, and everything seems to indicate he will end up in Europe.
While his teammates have been urging him to stay, and club president Andrés Fassi has been battling to try and make it happen, the reality is that a move is on the cards and his agent has consistently hinted as much in recent weeks.
Where he ends up remains to be seen. TyC say it’s easy to imagine him in the Premier League, although they don’t name any names at this point.
Everton are long-term admirers, though, with his agent admitting all the way back in January that the Toffees had been in contact about a move. Indeed, they were the first Premier League side to show an interest and their need for wingers would certainly make a move sensible.
Whether they’d be willing to pay anywhere near his $20m release clause, or even be capable of paying it, remains to be seen.
For now, it remains to be seen but they’re undoubtedly in the mix and all reports from Argentina are that Sosa will be moving soon.
