Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is still keen on joining Barcelona, according to Catalan claims.
The 28-year-old maintains the dreams of making a switch to the Camp Nou and is now ‘desperate’ for a transfer, as reported by Sport.
Silva’s efforts to get a move last summer didn’t have any result and it’s not looking much different this time around. It’s claimed he ‘begins to despair’ at the likelihood of staying at Manchester City for one more season, which sounds overly dramatic.
Sport state the midfielder has ‘carefully considered’ leaving the Etihad and if possible, making a switch to the Catalan club, which has been his dream.
Barca’s Ousmane Dembélé could be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain and the newspaper says Silva is seen as the ‘ideal’ target to replace the Frenchman.
Jorge Mendes has repeatedly offered his client to the Blaugrana and would be willing to push to close the operation.
Manchester City’s stance has made it difficult as the report states they are ‘no longer going to provide facilities’ to sell Silva despite his desire for a transfer.
This, coupled with the Blaugrana’s financial conditions, makes the Portugal international an ‘impossible dream’ for Barca, unless their president Joan Laporta ‘pulls a rabbit out of his hat’.
On Monday, Le10 Sport reported PSG have given up on signing Silva.
