Having failed in their efforts to sign Jules Koundé in 2021, Chelsea are back again for the Sevilla star this summer.
The defender has also emerged as a target for Barcelona and is ‘number one goal’ for Xavi Hernández to strengthen his side’s defence.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Blues’ ‘desire’ to take the 23-year-old is posing a problem for the Catalan club.
It’s claimed the Premier League side are ‘determined’ to sign the France international, and Sevilla will ‘not be able to prevent’ his transfer as long as they receive an important offer.
Thomas Tuchel won’t have Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen next season, therefore the Frenchman is an ‘obsession’ for Chelsea. 
‘Time plays in Chelsea’s favour’ to beat Barcelona to Koundé, since the Catalan side don’t have the necessary liquidity to carry out his signing.
