Newcastle United could bring Davinson Sánchez back to the Premier League, a year after he left Tottenham Hotspur for Galatasaray.
The centre-back spent six years at Spurs and Ange Postecoglou didn’t include him in his plans this season. It convinced the player to leave Tottenham for the Turkish club, where he’s played regularly when available for selection.
His performances for Galatasaray seem to have caught Newcastle’s attention, according to Damga Gazetesi.
The 27-year-old has become one of the most important players at the Istanbul club and this has resulted in interest.
Napoli were the first to show interest in the former Tottenham man and they’re now joined by Newcastle, who are considering bringing the defender back to the Premier League.
To do that, Eddie Howe’s side have sent a letter to Galatasaray, to express their interest in the Colombia international.
As well as Newcastle and Napoli, a few other unnamed clubs from Italy and England are also in the mix to sign the South American.
Sánchez’s contract lasts until 2027 and Galatasaray’s intention is to retain him. If they can’t, Damga Gazetesi claim their aim is to get as much money as possible.
Newcastle have reportedly made contact and if they manage to win the battle, then Sánchez will be back in England in the summer.
