Of all the deals Leeds United sorted out in the summer, the one to send Elia Caprile to Bari in Serie B for a small fee went under the radar.
The young goalkeeper was sold to the Italian side after spending last season on loan at Pro Patria in Serie C, where he impressed enough to catch the attention of a club in the league above.
With little desire to stay at Leeds and clearly wanting to stay in Italy, a move to Bari was organised, with the Whites smartly inserting a clause that would guarantee them around 50% of a future transfer.
This is according to Tutto Bari, who run through his recent performance against Modena, which ended 4-1 in favour of Bari.
Caprile played a key part in that result, which was a bit more flattering than the performances of both teams, making various crucial saves.
It was a continuation of the fine form he has been in all season, conceding 17 goals in 17 games and keeping five clean sheets.
As the website puts it, ‘the future belongs to him’, and a good portion of whatever transfer fee Bari get for him down the line belongs to Leeds.
