Thursday saw several claims from both France and Germany stating that Aston Villa have outlined a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Moussa Diaby’s transfer.

This is further backed up by RMC Sport, who state the Villans and the Bundelsiga side have agreed a deal around €50m plus €10m in bonuses.

Al-Nassr were providing tough competition but the winger finally ‘opted’ to join Aston Villa.

It’s claimed the 24-year-old gave preference to the Premier League side’s sporting project under Unai Emery over the proposal made from the Saudi Arabian club.

With the two clubs already agreeing a deal, RMC Sport say the France international should carry out medical tests with Aston Villa ‘within the next 48 hours’. He will also sign a five-year deal at Villa Park.

RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins took to Twitter add the player refused a ‘big offer’ from Al-Nassr to join the English club.

He says Diaby should undergo his Aston Villa medical tests in the next few days and ‘if all goes well’, it could be scheduled for Sunday.

Last season, the attacker managed 14 goals and 11 assists from 48 games.
