Over the past week, we’ve covered reports saying Fulham should soon get a new chance to sign Morato from Benfica.
It’s been claimed that despite the Eagles’ rejection of the Whites’ first attempt, they’re now considering letting the Brazilian go.
Record shares a new similar story today, but this time, they claim that Morato was actually quite keen on joining Fulham.
The newspaper writes that last summer, when Fulham made a €25m offer for the defender, he asked Benfica to let him go.
The Eagles rejected the offers and promised him he’d have more chances to play, but that’s not exactly what has been happening, as he ended up being relocated to left-back and recently lost his place in the team.
Fulham should then get a fresh chance to get him, for something similar to what they already offered last summer.
Morato ended up showing he’s a versatile defender by being able to play elsewhere, so perhaps that’s one more reason for Marco Silva’s side to bring him to Craven Cottage.
