Southampton are about to see the return of Lyanco, who spent last season on loan at Al-Gharafa SC.
The defender had a tough time at the Qatari side, where he struggled with injuries and a suspension, and there’s no big hope he’ll be used by the Saints in the Premier League next season.
As Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola today shares a story on his future, he claims there are a few clubs willing to bring him back to Brazil.
It’s claimed that Lyanco is keen on that return and is set to ‘make an effort’ to try to convince Southampton to let him make the move. That could be on a loan or a permanent deal.
According to Nicola, two clubs from São Paulo and one from Rio de Janeiro have got in touch for the signing in the ‘past few days’. Even though he’s been linked to Vasco da Gama, his father claims there have been no contacts from that specific side.
Lyanco’s contract with Southampton runs until 2025, so that could be the last chance for the Saints to make a sale.
