Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario now seems ready to officially join Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sport Mediaset’s latest report, the 26-year-old has already landed in London ahead of his move to Spurs.
It’s claimed that in the coming days, he’ll have his medical tests and then sign his contract with Tottenham.
Recent reports from the Italian media have been claiming that Spurs are initially spending €20m on the signing, although the performance bonuses could make the price rise to €25m.
There wasn’t a long timeline between the first reports of Spurs interest in Vicario and the stories about the full agreement, which came out last Wednesday. That’s why, by that time, the local media wasn’t even sure of how much the transfer would cost for the London side.
Vicario joined Empoli in a loan move from Cagliari in 2021 and the transfer was made permanent last summer in an €8.5m deal.
That proved to be a great investment for the Serie A side, with Tottenham investing heavily to have an immediate replacement for Hugo Lloris.
