Brest full-back Romain Perraud has arrived in England to undergo a medical at Southampton and sign a contract with the club.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the defender is close to finalising a move to Saint Mary’s.
Perraud has been edging closer to a move to Southampton over the last few weeks, with them keen to add a new left-back to their squad after Ryan Bertrand’s departure.
The 23-year-old is the man they have identified to fill the gap, with a report last week stating that they were expected to complete a deal in the next few weeks.

That report stated talks were going in the right direction, and Foot Mercato back that up, saying that he has now travelled to England ‘in the last few hours’ to undergo a medical.
They also state that the left-back is ‘due to sign a contract’ with Southampton, suggesting this deal is now in the final stages and should be finalised sooner rather than later.
