Over the past few weeks, multiple reports from Italy have stated Leeds United and Inter Milan are interested in Cagliari’s Nahitan Nández.
The Serie A winners’ have reportedly dropped down the pecking order in the chase for the midfielder after signing Hakan Çalhanoğlu on a free transfer.
On Friday, Nández’s agent Pablo Bentancur admitted that clubs in England and Italy approached him to ask information about his client.
Corriere dello Sport covers the 25-year-old’s situation when discussing part of Cagliari’s summer transfer plans. Their summary states the midfielder ‘approaches’ the Premier League side.
The Whites are ‘always vigilant’ of the Uruguay international, even if ‘actual negotiations’ between the two sides haven’t started yet.
The newspaper further adds Leeds’ interest is ‘pushed by Marcelo Bielsa’, and the English club could ‘accelerate in the coming days’ to sign the South American.
Nández managed two goals and three assists in 32 league matches last season for Cagliari. He’s also made two Copa América appearances for Uruguay in the ongoing continental tournament.
