Mislav Oršić is undergoing a medical at Southampton after they finally managed to strike a deal with Dinamo Zagreb for the forward.
That’s according to Germanijak, who say the Saints have filed an €8m offer for the Croatian that has convinced Dinamo to sell.
They explain that Southampton ‘raised the offer’ for the forward after Dinamo ‘flatly refused’ a ‘miserable offer’ of just over €5m earlier this week.
That appeared to have put an end to a potential transfer, but Southampton ‘relented’ and went as high as €8m for the player.
To be precise, their bid is €6.5m initially with the potential to rise to €8m via various bonuses. This has been accepted by Dinamo as it would be the most expensive transfer in their history.
Oršić has been key to the operation being accepted as he ‘insisted on leaving’ and even the pleas of the fans asking him to stay did not persuade him.
In fact, the forward is ‘already undergoing a medical’ at his new club and the deal to take him to Southampton looks likely to be finalised post haste.
