Hull City are on closing in on signing Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis this summer.
Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed news of Hull City, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Coventry City interest. The Tigers have pushed ahead of others in the transfer race.
Last weekend, the 23-year-old left a training camp in Austria and returned to Athens to complete his Hull City move.
Olympiacos vice-president Kostas Karapapas confirmed an offer for the stopper.
He said: “There was an offer that you’re all aware of. He was out of the team. We made it easy for him, and he returned to Athens to finalise the transfer; in any case, he wasn’t going to play against Nijmegen. We will sign a goalkeeper.”
Hull City on verge of completing signing
Sport 24 in Greece now claim Konstantinos Tzolakis carried out his Hull City medical at Isokinetic Athens.
The Greece international was pictured next to Akis Tsapralis, the orthopaedic director of the clinic, and has already completed the medical examinations.

Olympiacos have given Konstantinos Tzolakis green light to carry out the tests after agreeing a deal with Sergej Jakirović’s side. They have also sorted out personal terms with the player.
The report doesn’t mention a fee or any details of Hull City’s agreement with the club and the stopper.
Official announcement pending
With all parties in agreement and Konstantinos Tzolakis clearing his medical, only the official announcement is now missing.
The newly promoted Premier League side should announce this signing soon as Sport 24 claim the operation is in the ‘final stage’.
Hull City should at least provide clarity about the length of the goalkeeper’s contract.
Last season, Tzolakis kept 23 clean sheets and conceded 35 goals from 43 matches for Olympiacos.
