As Manchester City continue to try to find a deal with West Ham United for the transfer of Lucas Paquetá, it seems they’ve now taken an important step towards the transfer.
French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi writes on Twitter that the player has agreed a six-year contract with the treble champions.
It’s said Lucas Paquetá has already spoken to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and is apparently ready to make the switch.
West Ham, meanwhile, continue to resist the Citizens’ efforts. It’s claimed that the Hammers want €110m for the sale, without bonuses.
Bouhafsi claims negotiations between the clubs ‘continue’, with Manchester City now ‘optimistic’ following the player’s approval.
It’s been recently reported in France that Pep Guardiola’s side last made a bid worth €101m, so they may not be very far from a deal with West Ham, especially in case the Hammers bend and drop their request a little.
Following the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, we could see the Hammers making about €225m with the sale of two players this summer, and that’s something the club’s fans could hardly imagine a couple of seasons ago.
