Sevilla defender Loïc Badé has insisted he is delighted he didn’t get to play for Nottingham Forest this season, as it means he’s been able to succeed at the Spanish club.
The centre-back has been talking to Sevilla’s official media, relayed by Diario La Escuadra, about his time at the club so far after arriving in the January transfer window.
He had spent the first half of this season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Rennes, arriving as one of the numerous signings made by Forest in the summer.
However, he failed to make an impact on Steve Cooper, with the Welsh manager not using him for a single minute of football in any competition ahead of January.
That led to a cancellation of his loan deal in the January transfer window, with Badé instead joining Sevilla until the end of the season.
That move has worked out well for all parties, with Badé establishing himself as a first team star since arriving with a series of impressive performances.
That wouldn’t have been possible if he’d played for Nottingham Forest as players can only play for two teams in one season, something he is more than grateful for.
“I’ve been to three clubs in one year. It’s been tough, but that’s football,” he said.
“Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s harder. I didn’t play any games. In France we say it’s a bad for a good.
“If I had played at Nottingham I wouldn’t be here, because you can’t play for three clubs in one year, but because I didn’t play, I’m here.
“Monchi knew me from before, when I was at Rennes. He spoke to my agent, I spoke to him, very well, I felt very good and that’s why all the people know that Sevilla is a great club and that’s why I directly wanted to come here.”
