Perhaps Wolves fans are exhausted by the talk around Jhon Arias. Yet in Brazil the story refuses to slow down.
Journalist Cosme Rímoli has published a version of events that contradicts recent updates from stronger and more reliable outlets.
According to Rímoli, Arias is “absolutely unhappy” in England and has struggled even more as winter temperatures drop. He adds that the Colombian has lost confidence, fallen to the bench and has produced no goals or assists in 15 matches.
Rímoli claims this decline pushed Wolves to “authorise” the player’s representatives to look for options in the market.
The report goes further. Rímoli writes that new manager Rob Edwards has already “lost patience” with the winger. He no longer sees the Colombian as a key part of the survival plan.
That is a sharp contrast to the most recent information from ESPN Brazil, which stated that Wolves will not negotiate departures in January. Colombian journalist Julián Capera also said earlier that Arias “will not move this year”.
Rímoli also places Palmeiras and Flamengo back into the discussion. He even mentions Cruzeiro as another club monitoring his situation. These claims have not appeared in other outlets, and no formal movement has been reported.
Arias surely has faced a difficult adaptation since leaving Fluminense, but there is still no confirmation that Wolves want to sell.
