Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet was on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season and the north London club have been trying to buy him this summer.
On Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo reported that everything suggested the defender would move to Spurs before Al-Nassr showed up to sign him. It was also stated they are willing to offer him a big salary.
Sport state the La Liga side are pushing the 28-year-old to move to Saudi Arabia after receiving an offer from Al-Nassr. However, he prefers to join Tottenham.
The Frenchman isn’t in favour of moving to the Middle East and ‘absolutely prioritises’ to return to the Premier League side. It’s said the centre-back has a ‘pre-agreement’ with Ange Postecoglou’s side for a three-year deal.
Barcelona are in a hurry to close the defender’s sale and are demanding €15m. Al-Nassr are willing to meet their request while Tottenham ‘don’t want to pay that amount’.
It’s claimed Spurs have made a ‘huge effort’ to take care of Lenglet’s salary and cannot pay €15m on top of that to buy him.
Spurs face Barca in the friendly tie next week and Sport suggest it’s possible a solution could be found then.
The report says Harry Kane’s potential sale to Bayern Munich is the ‘main problem’ for the English club and it has been ‘delaying all their market efforts’, including a deal for Lenglet.
