Earlier today we covered claims from Germany which stated Eintracht Frankfurt are considering making a move for Victor Lindelof this summer.
The Sweden international has seen himself drop down the list of options for Erik ten Hag after Matthijs De Ligt and Leny Yoro were signed.
With a contract expiring in less than a year, the 30-year-old will be an option for multiple clubs, and another in the picture is Fiorentina.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports La Viola have identified the Manchester United as they look to bring someone in at the back.
However, it’s pointed out Lindelof currently earns €3m a year at Old Trafford, a figure which will almost certainly be after tax. Fiorentina want to know the conditions of a transfer and also a possible salary contribution.
That suggests they’d want Manchester United to contribute financially to the final year of the player’s contract. There’s no mention of transfer fee, which may suggest the Serie A club don’t want to pay one, which would be optimistic.
The Italian article doesn’t say so, but with Sofyan Ambrabat still at Fiorentina this could present an opportunity to do a mutually beneficial deal if Manchester United are still trying to sign a midfielder at the end of the market.
