Kosta Nedeljković arrived at Villa Park last summer after Aston Villa signed him from Red Star Belgrade in January 2024. He was limited to 121 minutes from five Premier League games this season.

In the winter market, the right-back joined RB Leipzig on loan in search of a regular game time. Two months ago, we covered claims from Germany which stated he took a pay cut to secure a move to the Bundesliga club.

Last month, the Aston Villa man said “we’ll see” when asked if he would like to continue at Leipzig. He also said he’d started learning German.

Kicker provide a short update on the German club’s plans for the 19-year-old beyond this season.

The Serbia international has played 134 minutes from five league games for Leipzig. He made only one start, which came against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim last weekend under Zsolt Löw.

Leipzig appointed Löw as their interim manager after parting ways with Marco Rose. The fullback hardly featured regularly under Rose, but his situation has improved under Löw.

They have agreed a €12m purchase option with the Premier League club. Kicker now state Leipzig are planning to exercise it and offer a long-term contract to Nedeljković.

It looks like the Serbian’s future would be far away from Aston Villa.
