Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga is set to travel to Seville today to complete a move to Sevilla on a season-long loan deal.

That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who report that Victor Orta’s ‘phone is smoking’ as he gets busy strengthening Sevilla’s squad for next season.

The newspaper explains that now the soap opera around striker Rafa Mir has been brought to an end, he’s joined Valencia, Sevilla have turned their focus to getting a deal for Lokonga over the finish line.

The Arsenal man is set to become the Spanish’s club’s third signing of the summer ‘imminently’ and is expected to arrive in the city in the next few hours to sign his contract with the club.

Sevilla and Arsenal have negotiated a loan deal for the Belgian midfielder and managed to overcome the initial differences after the Gunners had demanded a mandatory purchase clause be included.

This has been avoided and the two clubs have instead agreed to an unconditional purchase clause being included instead.

Sevilla reached an agreement with Lokonga weeks ago and he’s been training outside of the city in private, waiting for a deal to be finalised between the two clubs. That’s now happened and so he’s expected to travel today to sign the necessary paperwork and become a Sevilla player.
