There are reports in the Turkish media that the partner of Burnley forward Wout Weghorst isn’t keen on a move to Trabzonspor.
The Dutchman has been linked with a move to the Super Lig side in the past week as they look to bring a centre forward this summer.
Sporx have reported on comments made by Mithat Halis, who they describe as the player’s agent but who is more likely representing the player on the Turkish side of a potential move.
He revealed Weghorst’s partner doesn’t want to live in Trabzon. The Turkish agent went on to say if she can be convinced then the transfer is likely to happen.
“His girlfriend doesn’t want to live in Trabzon. If Trabzonspor can convince her, then he will be transferred,” said his agent.
Only a few days ago we covered reports from Turkey that Trabzonspor were making concrete steps to sign the Netherlands international.
With less than 12 months left on his contract the Championship side are under pressure to offload him this summer or risk losing him on a free next year.
Weghorst previously had a brief, and successful, loan spell in Turkey with Besiktas during the 2022/23 season.
