Manchester United are a likelier destination for Juventus star Federico Chiesa this summer than Napoli.

That’s at least according to journalist Nicolò Ceccarini, who has presented Manchester United as a far likelier destination should Chiesa leave Juventus this summer.

The Italian forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus this summer as they undergo something of an overhaul for new manager Thiago Motta.

A potential move to the Premier league has been hinted at for months and Manchester United are one of those believed to be in the mix.

Indeed, a report towards the end of last month suggested that they could be involved in a swap deal for Mason Greenwood, a set up that would suit all parties.

There’s been no mention of Manchester United since that point but Nicolò Ceccarini has now brought them back into the mix, suggesting they’re far more likely than Napoli.

“Chiesa? Certainly, respected by Conte, but if there is an Italian team that was really interested it was Roma. But if he didn’t stay at Juventus, I would see him more abroad, perhaps at Manchester United,” he said.

In other words, as far as he’s concerned, Manchester United are far more likely than Napoli or another Italian club for Chiesa at this moment in time.

The big question is where he’d fit in at Old Trafford at this moment in time, with the current squad boasting three left wingers and four right wingers now Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood have returned for their loan spells.

There’s little room for Chiesa at this moment in time then, unless several of those players depart and open up space, and indeed, funds.

Thus, we’d suggest this one isn’t something that’ll pick up any time soon but could develop later in the window if Chiesa doesn’t depart Juventus before then.
