Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Chiquinho is today very much praised by the Portuguese media.
The winger, who’s having a temporary spell at Famalicão, scored the opener in the 2-0 win against Casa Pia, and his performance is highlighted by newspaper O Jogo.
The outlet points out that Chiquinho scored a ‘spectacular’ goal, and now he’s finding the form he had at Estoril, where he drew Wolves’ attention a couple of years ago.
O Jogo writes that the winger is ‘performing in style’ and called Ruben Fonseca, one of his old teammates at Tondela, to speak about it.
“I think he’s already proved his quality immensely. When he signed for Wolverhampton he only went to the best league in the world, that speaks for itself, and he managed to play. He had a difficult injury, which is never easy, but he’s destined for these stages,” Fonseca told O Jogo.
Chiquinho was signed by Wolves in a €3.5m deal from Estoril in January 2022, but had few chances of playing for the Molineux side, with only nine appearances made for them.
Last summer, he had been loaned to Stoke City, but was recalled by Wolves and ended up getting the move to Famalicão, where he’s expected to stay until the end of the season. So far, he has three goals and one assist in 12 appearances there.
