Manchester City are keen on signing AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders in the summer window, according to Calciomercato.
The midfielder has starred for the Serie A club this season, managing 13 goals and four assists from 45 games.
His performances have attracted attention from several clubs and Manchester City are the ‘most interested’ among these.
Pep Guardiola has set his sights on the 26-year-old as he aims to reshape the Citizens’ midfield next season. The report says his vision and qualities would make him ‘perfect’ for the Manchester City manager’s style of play.
Last month, the Rossoneri secured the Netherlands international’s long-term future by extending his contract until 2030. Reijnders insisted he wants to help relaunch the Italian club.
The report indicates it would be difficult for the San Siro club to retain him without the Champions League. They are currently ninth in the table, nine points behind fourth placed Bologna.
Calciomercato’s title says Manchester City ‘think of a super offer’ for the Dutchman and within the report, they mention the fee would be between €50-60m.
Milan have to ‘resist the strong temptation’ from cashing in from Reijnders’ sale and he also has to resist Manchester City’s interest.
Reijnders may be sold in the next window, especially if Milan were to miss out on the Champions League.
