Back in January, reports from Brazil claimed that Nottingham Forest made a bid for Santos wonderkid Angelo.
It had been claimed that the Reds wanted the player on a loan deal, and in case of avoiding relegation, they’d confirm the purchase for around €19m.
There was no agreement at the time, with Santos fighting to keep their gem. Now it turns out that the Brazilian club are in a very delicate financial situation, leading them to negotiate the player’s sale with Flamengo, and for less money.
The reason for it is that this new negotiation lets the club keep a bigger percentage of a future transfer.
As reported by journalist Lucas Musetti, Nottingham Forest’s offer was for 100% of Angelo’s rights. Meanwhile, Flamengo offer €12m and would give 50% of a future move.
Santos believe this new offer is ‘good’ and now scheduled a meeting with the player’s parents and staff to discuss the bid.
Something that may excite Nottingham Forest is information brought by Bruno Andrade.
He claims Angelo doesn’t want to leave now and would rather leave for Europe in the middle of the year. So this may be the right moment for the Reds to step in, especially because Santos would definitely negotiate with an English club instead of a Brazilian rival.
