Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has told his player Jason Denayer that a loan spell at Galatasaray will not do any good for him, as the Spaniard wants Denayer to play Spain or Portugal to progress as a footballer even further.
It’s understood by Turkish website Sporx, that Guardiola said ‘‘Move to Turkey? I’ve doubts about it. You can’t progress well in Turkey and could even go backwards there. The football played in Turkey is not suitable for you to progress.”
After hearing this, Denayer apparently told Guardiola that he’d take the advice onboard but he prefers to play for Galatasaray if he’s not going to remain at Manchester City.
As we covered before, Galatasaray CEO Levent Nazifoglu said they have lots of defensive options at their disposal and adding Denayer to that list doesn’t make any sense, especially on loan, but Galatasaray manager Jan-Olde Riekerink is pushing hard for 21-year old Belgian defender.
