Sport is now backing up the recent news regarding Chelsea’s interest in Real Valladolid starlet Ivan Fresneda.
The Catalan outlet, as usual, is taking Barcelona’s point of view, and claiming that as the Camp Nou side take too long to make their move, the Blues are taking advantage of the situation.
It’s said people at Chelsea have ‘no doubts’ about the operation and will soon place their bid for Fresneda.
That created some ‘tension’ at Barcelona, because even though their scouts had it clear that they should invest in their 18-year-old, that isn’t exactly how their board is acting, as they’ve been actually working to get João Cancelo signed from Manchester City.
Barcelona had already placed a bid for Fresneda, and that was of €8m plus €5m in goals. Valladolid turned that down, and nothing happened since then.
The player is said to be keen on a move to the Camp Nou and would prioritise that over Chelsea. However, Sport says ‘patience has a limit’, and by the next week, the youngster could feel ‘free to negotiate with any club’.
So as Barça struggle to get Cancelo signed and make a mess of their chase for Fresneda, that’s the opportunity the Blues need to buy the Spaniard.
